Spring is in the air, and with this favorable change in temperature comes Easter, weddings, and vacations. Spring is a great opportunity to update your closet and in the process, show a little of your personality with your fashion choices. We want you to be prepared and always look your best, so here is a list of 10 Necessities you need for your Spring Wardrobe:

The Perfect Jean — With all due respect to Wrangler and Levi’s, jeans have come a long way in the past decade. Even if you think that you’re not a “jean person”, trying on a pair of Agave, Hiltl or Worn jeans with 2% lycra for stretch could change your mind. These are available in several washes and fits, one that will surely become your new favorite!

A Gingham Sportshirt — Gingham is such a classic pattern that can be dressed up or dressed down. Wear this shirt with the sleeves rolled up paired with your favorite khakis, or under a blazer with a pair of dress trousers. Gitman Bros. and Peter Millar have several awesome colors to choose from, including pink, purple, turquiose and green.

A New Pair of Shoes — While those driving shoes from last year may be your most comfortable, chances are you wore them without socks once or twice, and chances are they smell like it. Toss em, and come check out the new selection that Martin Dingman has to offer. Additionally, Spring is an excellent time to add a 3rd pair of dress shoes to your wardrobe. You’ve got brown and black, so consider a tan pair. Alden has a new tan shell cordovan penny loafer that we’re in love with!

A Lighter Suit — Once the temperature reaches 85 degrees, that charcoal or navy suit is going to feel oppressive. Lighten up! Consider a tan, light brown, light grey or blue suit to combat the heat and add some personality to your business wardrobe rotation. Jack Victor, Samuelsohn and Canali have some beautiful choices in solids, pin stripes and houndstooth.

Colorful & Comfortable Knits — Of course knits are great for the golf course, but what’s wrong with wearing one under a sportcoat for date night? Scott Barber and Peter Millar offer a variety of solids and stripes that you’ll love, and if you haven’t tried a Southern Tide knit yet, come feel the difference the stretch can make!

Linen Blend Trousers — The essence of cool in the spring and summer time! Jack Victor offers a pleated linen/wool blend dress trouser in tan, navy and charcoal. Hiltl Trousers have a flat-front “Chino Lino” cotton/linen blend in khaki, stone, blue and red.

A Pocket Square (In lieu of a tie) — A pocket square can add a touch of class to any blazer or sportcoat. Impress your wife or girlfriend by wearing one to dinner or a party. If business dictates a casual dress, this small feature can really make you stand out with your boss or with clients. Peter Millar, Hanuer and Breuer have some great patterns and shades for that pop of color that you need in the spring.

A Pastel Pant — If you’re tired of wearing the same old khaki colored pants, try a summer olive, a seafoam green, a baby blue or light pink trouser. Bill’s Khaki’s and Peter Millar have some awesome choices for the guy who wants to do something a little different for vacation or parties.

A Soft-Model Sportcoat — These coats are “dressy-casual” and perfect without a tie. They have softer shoulders, open-patch pockets and an overall more relaxed and comfortable fit than a traditional sportcoat. Try wearing a pocketsquare to complete this spring look (see #7). Any made-to-measure coat can be done in a softer model, and we have some in stock from Samuelsohn and Kroon that are really great.

A Sport Shirt Untucked — As the weater heats up, it’s definately time to get a little more comfortable. Peter Millar has 100% cotton shirts that you’d swear were linen, perfect for wearing untucked with sleeves rolled up. All the look of linen without the maintenance. Furthermore, They’ve done some short sleeve cotton/silk blends in great colors that are made to be worn untucked with your favorite shorts or khakis. All of these styles would look great with a pair of colorful casual pants (see #8).
